Piracy in the Caribbean began in the XVII century, the main center for the collection of pirates, buccaneers and became bukanerov Tortuga and Port Royal. The heyday of piracy took place in the years 1700-1730 - this time called the golden age of piracy. During this period the famous Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, operating in the Caribbean Sea in the years 1716-1718, and Charles Vane, whose career lasted from 1716 to 1719 years. Famous Black Bart, and Jack Rekhem and his girlfriend Anne Bonny and Mary Read wielded in the West Indies until 1720. An important source of information about these and other biographies of pirates is a book by Charles Johnson, which was released in 1724 under the title "General History of looting and the killing perpetrated by the most famous pirates."
Among the later pirates released Roberto Kofresi, hunted in the Caribbean in 1818-1825, respectively.
